Lesley breaks 3 records!

Lesley Blignaut, Deputy Headgirl of Stirling broke three long-standing records at the inter-house gala on Tuesday, 31 January and was last week selected once again for the South African Swimming Team that will compete in the CANA Africa Games. Last year she swam for SA in Italy, Egypt and Angola.

The Stirling 1st Boys’ Water Polo team won the Port Rex Knockout Tournament this weekend.  Stirling had an excellent tournament, beating Merrifield (10-1), Grey PE (8-2), Pearson (6-3) and Northwood from Durban 11-10 in the final.

Stirling Girls' 1st Water Polo win Reddam Tournament

The Stirling Girls' 1st Water Polo Team won the Reddam Water Polo Tournament this weekend winning all their matches leading up to the final where they beat Reddam 8-5.  Well done girls.

Lesley selected for CANA Africa Team

Congratulations to Lesley Blignaut who has been selected for the CANA Africa Team to swim in Bloemfontein from 16 - 23 October at the CANA Africa Championships. Included in this team are the likes of Chad Le Clos, Cameron van den Burgh, and others.

Stirling Chamber Choir is tops!

The Stirling High School Chamber Choir travelled to Stellenbosch to compete in the ATKV-Applous Finals and the results they achieved are as follows: 84% Gold winners for Best non-Afrikaans Mixed Choir in SA! 2nd overall in non-Afrikaans High School Choir and they also won the prize for the best rendition of the prescribed mixed choir piece. From there the choir went to the Cantamus National Choir Festival held in George. As a Chamber Choir, Stirling was the smallest choir in their category (Mixed High School Choir) but they still walked away with the trophy for best Mixed High School Choir (6 choirs in this specific category). Overall the Stirling Chamber Choir won best choir of the festival, based on the choir with the highest percentage given by a panel of 5 judges.
